Minim OSD Not Working

i just recently recieved a clone of the minim osd from Banggood. i plugged it all in and al i get is a blank screen. now i am not saying that the ones from banggood don't work, every so often you will get a dud one. but i am testing it and i am trying to find out what happend to it and to see if i can fix it. i have both sides powered up. i also got a ftdin adapter from there and the part number is scratched off so you can't see the part number, but i works great, no problems what so ever.

if i get this working then i will post when i get this working if not then  i will most likely by another.

FliteTest Electrohub Build

This was me building my electrohub it took me a bit over 5 hours to build but i had a problem with one of the escs, if you had everything working and you didn't have to lengthen the wires on the motors and escs.

i used a kk2.1 for the build but it later got destroyed with a faulty sbec in the esc and i now have a flip 1.5 with baro and mag. and i also have a liner voltage regulator which only draws 10mA, which isn't much so i used that as my regulating circuit. overall the flip 1.5 is a much better board and more stable.

 Flip 1.5:
pros: cheap, stable, small, has a case and easy to use
cons:yaw is not very responsive and doesn't always arm.

Electronics:
   flip1.5
   multistar 20amp esc
   dt700
   11x4.7 prop | soon going for 10x4.5
   2200 3s battery
   hk 6ch reciver
   turnigy 9x
   regulator 7805 with filter capacitors.

I just Came back from the Hobbyking event in Brisbane!

Hello, i went to the hobbyking event in Brisbane at Tingalpa model areo club. there was a fair amount of people there. there were really young people there and some not so young people there. i thought there was a 7-11 year old boy fling a 3d ( or what looks like one ) that is bigger than himself. they had a massive glider ( the wingspan on that was properly 10 metres) with a turbine ( or jet ). the glider did loops and some other stunts, the wings on this glider was bending due to the g forces.

the actual airfield was massive. they also had a hobbyking viper edf, with a small turbine in it, which went fast but it looked like it was limited by the drag. but this smaller electric plane had over took the jet, which was really fast! but a hobbyking EFX Racer came along which was even faster, that this was super fast.

i didn't see any quads or multirotors there flying. but there was some heli's there doing some 3d (acrobatics).

in the morning before we left, it look like it would be raining alot, but when we got there it was dry ( well the ground was a little bit wet) and never rained for the rest of the time we were there.

near the end of the day there was an auction were they sell off all of there display models. there was a quantum nova, venture FPV, the reaper 3d quad, a windnetic, a bix 3, assault 430 heli, an ugly stick, and a few other planes that i cant name, some of them are pre-relese and the owners of the planes will be the first people to own one of those planes.

the shop had a few deals like a multistar motor that is usually around $20 and at the show they were selling for $15 with 2 props, mounting gear and bullet connectors, What a Bargain. but there was some not so good deals like a shirt costing $15 at the show and $11 on the website, another one is the windsock which was $5 at the show and cost $4 online, but keep in mind that you don't have to pay for shipping, so it actually turns out cheaper at the show and you don't have to wait a long time for the parcel to arrive. it would be the best time to buy a plane since you don't have to pay for shipping.

overall it was a great day, sorry i have no pictures, but here is hobbyking's video of the event.

hello there,
i have just took off the kk2.1 on my electrohub. i then had alook at the bottom and abit of copper wire (trace on the pcb) was moved while the 3m vhb tape was still on, here is a picture of it with part of the tape off.

so i think this is why it wasn't working and also why i needed to get another one
i also put on the flip 1.5 with the baro & mag sensors on it. i now only need a ubec to power it since the built in sbec in the mutistar escs had overvolted
so here is a picture of the quad with the flip 1.5

Flight Controller & esc

Hello,
I have made a diy fpv goggles so i can fly fpv. so i test the goggles and they work so i plug in the battery to my quad which has the special connector to power my fpv transmitter. and it worked, but the second time i did it the kk2.1 screen was blank but the back light was still on. and i saw a bit of 'magic smoke' come out of an esc (the one with the sbec). so i measured the voltage and it was saying 12volts ( a little over). so i then plugged it back into the kk2.1 and i measured the voltage, the voltage was 10 volts ( by the way i know this can happen ( the bit were it drops in voltage)). and i touched the kk2.1 's prossesor and it was so hot that i couldn't touch it.

so i am going to get a few more spare sbec esc's. the esc's i am using is the multistar 20 amp opto with one of the 4 esc's with a sbec in it. this is the second time i have had this problem(over-voltage). so what i am going to do is get a voltage protection circuit or i can use a zener diode to protect the fc ( flight controller ). i will also get a different fc, probably the multiwii flip 1.5 or something else in that sort of price range.
i will have an article latter about my diy fpv goggles.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU PROTECT YOUR FC. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE USING CHEAP ESC'S.

so i will have to wait untill i have made up my mind to which of the fc's i am going to get and then wait for the shipping.

please comment on which fc you think is great.

version 1.1 out for battery calculator!

hello i have recently updated this application

new features include
 - now shows the version
 - now rounds to the closest minute
 - now also shows 80% of the time since you don't ever want to use more than 80% of the battery

here is the download link:
